JVCKENWOOD Awards Saskatoon Search and Rescue $10,000 in Communications products
MISSISSAUGA, ON, CA – JVCKENWOOD Canada Inc is proud to announce that Saskatoon Search and Rescue (SSAR) is the 2020 recipient of the Kenwood Cares grant, which awards a non-profit volunteer organization with $10,000 in Kenwood Communications equipment every year.
“Saskatoon Search and Rescue is thrilled to be the recipient of the 2020 Kenwood Cares grant” said Dale Liebrecht, President of Saskatoon Search and Rescue. “We have used a Kenwood communications system for several years with great success, over significant distances, and are able to connect all the agencies we work with in multi-jurisdictional activations. We became a Project Lifesaver agency two years ago and our extremely high-risk clients are elderly people with dementia, young children with autism or Down syndrome, and people with other cognitive disorders that make them prone to wandering. When they go missing, it’s a critical and time sensitive situation. This grant from Kenwood will make our community stronger, enrich the lives of those who wander and provide support for their families.”
SSAR was selected as the winner after the JVCKENWOOD team thoroughly reviewed a varied and inspiring group of applications from across Canada. This is the sixth year that JVCKENWOOD Canada has coordinated this program, and applications from volunteer organizations across the country have grown annually.
“We received a number of submissions that clearly outlined the invaluable role that Canadian volunteer organizations play in their respective communities” said Wilfried Mulder, National Sales Manager, Public Service Division, Dealer Sector at JVCKENWOOD Canada. “However, the submission from Saskatoon Search stood out to us, and we know that this grant will aid them in continuing to provide a vital service to the people of Saskatoon and surrounding areas.”
The Kenwood radio equipment will be configured by Prairie Mobile Communications, an authorized Kenwood dealer serving the two-way radio needs in Saskatoon and across the province of Saskatchewan. The company was founded over 50 years ago in Brandon, Manitoba, and has grown to be one of the largest Kenwood authorized dealers in Canada.
“We are thrilled with the decision from JVCKENWOOD Canada to select Saskatoon Search and Rescue as the 2020 Kenwood Cares grant recipient,” said Kimberley Bishop, President at Prairie Mobile Communications. “This organizations tireless efforts to keep people safe in our community usually go unheralded, and it is our honour to support them in upgrading their Communications equipment to the best quality products available in the market.”
